Year 26 Introduction

On Tuesday I turn 26.

The other night while I was pulling an all-nighter, it occurred to me that year 26 is going to be a year of transition. I'll finally finish school after spending 21 years in the education system (23 if you count pre-school). I'll write the bar. I'll have a job. I will, in short, enter the "real world," no matter how reluctantly.

Before I sell my soul to the corporate machine and get lost in all that "adult" nonsense, I came up with an idea: I am going to take a picture every day of the year between February 23, 2010 and February 23, 2011.

Every picture is going to be different. Every picture is going to be unique. Some strange, some boring but in their own way they will represent my day. Together, they will represent my year and myself. It will be who I was, I am and who I will be.

On certain days of the year, I am going to ask those in my life and in my world to contribute to this project. On Tuesday, February 23rd, I am asking you to take a picture and send it to me at year26.project@gmail.com. It can be of anything: you, your house, your pet, the twig you tripped over, the delicious meal you made, graffiti, anything about you or your day. Together it will represent my world on that day. Thank you all in advance!

I don't know what is going to happen. I don't know what pictures will be taken and I don't know how it will all come together. But that is what is exciting.

Please spread the word!
